What happpened!
A Mom and daughter drove to Vermont on Saturday where they attended the nerf council over the weekend. The mom and daughter were glad to have a brief visit with friends who were departing as they arrived following the council.
Word was spred that there was "a very quick and decisive council". Though it was 8 degrees below 0, outside, an amazing time was had inside as the wonderful host, Mountain Rainbow, and family served up homecooked pumpkin pie and banana bread.
Mom said, "We had the kind of conversation that I always love having and hope to have an infinity more of, one that our small numbers lent themselves to".
Mom expressed joy in meeting Mountain Rainbow's wonderful family. Mom reports that on Sunday, "...we had a phenomenal breakfast and then I hiked up the road and then up the snowy hill to the top of the mountain .....and I could see all around me for miles and miles and miles. I could see Killington and Monadnock and the waves and waves of other hills and mountains for 360 degrees. It was so beautiful. The others had taken that hike the day before. I was wondering how it comes that they [the host family] live so near a peak from which they can see all that; it has to be pretty high. Then I remembered that they live on a dirt road in Vermont and it all became clear to me. I walked back, very happy, and joined five women and girls for an outdoor hot tub and just basked in the contrast of heat and cold, strenuous and relaxed, wet and dry, alone and in company. Then we left and had a good ride home. Wowie Zowie.
(Ed. Note: No word has reached us to date on what the coucil decided as to where and when the next nerf concil will be!)

Recent Annual gathering of the tribes news:
Welcome Home Council Sets Scouting Adjenda.
(Toad Nov.09) Elders sat in council and passed a feather over the Thanksgiving weekend in West Virginia. Scouts from the North East, South East will continue scouting various sites on the East Coast. The scouts will look for camping areas which will suit the needs of the annual gathering of tribes this summer. Notes will be compared and sites narrowed down when the scouts gather again in early April. Folks mentioned the idea of visiting merchants and locals in communities near the gathering to show them we come in peace and to help them understand the financial benefits that come with the arrival of thousands of people seeking to spend money on supplies and services in their communities. There were other issues discussed also. If anyone who was there wishes to add anything, E-mail us HERE!

PERCEPTIONS ON THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLE'S DAY NERF COUNCIL
(Religulous III) The Indigenous Peoples Day (Columbus day) weekend Council in Vermont on Oct. 9-12, 2009 happened There are reports that 10 folks made the scene and two folks couldn't find the scene. Rumor has it that this council decided that the traditional NERF Thanksgiving council is not happening. Did they come up with a time and a place for the next nerf council? Stay tunned for more information about this council, maybe. (Ed. note: They did, see above.)

THE THIRD CONSENSUS (from tg council 07) : in response to a discussion about what constitutes a "NERF" kitchen*....
*If NERF kitchen equipment and money from the NERF bank is being used to create a kitchen... it's a NERF kitchen. Or to put it another way...
"If the Nerf kitchen goes to a gathering, then the name of that kitchen is Nerf"..
